My name is JR Griggs and I am a Business and Marketing consultant. Besides my own projects, my main efforts right now are teaching business owners how to cut the fat and waste out of their marketing budgets and increase profits. I also teach anyone who is serious about success, ways that they can take their passions and turn them into profits.
Growing Up
Life from early childhood has always been a bit of a roller coaster for me as you will see here. Maybe it comes from my parents getting married on Friday the 13th and then in 1979 me being born on Halloween. Those who believe in silly superstition might think that means something. I have learned better and do not think much about it. Although born in New Brunswick NJ, I have lived most of my life in Florida.
Growing up I went through all of the job fantasy’s that every kid has. You know, astronaut, fireman, garbage man (not sure why there was such appeal with that last one). If you were to ask anyone who knew me as a teenager what I was doing right now, they would probably assume I was a police officer or a pastor. I trained with the Miramar Police Explorers for 6 years. Being a cop was everything to me at that time.
Through life events and marriage my life took a different turn and law enforcement was put on hold. After marrying my best friend and an absolute blessing from God, I went to Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta California and received an Associates Degree in Theology. While pursuing a career in ministry I worked several different jobs and was always trying to start a company of my own.
My ambition to work for myself started early in life and has always stuck with me. I always had a passion for business and marketing. Always seemed to see things differently than most. This passion led me to many failures along the way but most importantly to success and a desire to always reach higher.
With a mind for business and marketing and a love for teaching was born a desire to help business owners with their businesses.
From Blogging to Teaching
My desire to teach and share was what turned me to blogging. At first it was just through a blog on life and politics. Eventually as I started seeing that online marketing was not only essential to a truly successful blog it was something businesses were struggling with greatly.
As I fine tuned my internet marketing capabilities and began having success selling products online, friends who owned businesses were begging me to teach them to do it with their business. I also had friends who hated their jobs and wanted to have the freedom I had, so they began to seek my help.
That is the reason for this blog, to share what I learn and help people to be successful with Business, Blogging, Internet Marketing, Social Media, etc. I am a firm believer in giving back especially because much of the help I got was from people giving it out for free.
This is also why I started RGE Media Group, to help businesses and teach them how to dominate their markets with fundamental marketing principles.
